We’re excited to announce the winner of our “Name That Lunch” contest: Munch & Mingle! The name says it all—this week, we’ll be hosting our very first Munch & Mingle meeting.
Since we don’t have a speaker scheduled this week, it’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy a delicious lunch, catch up with fellow Rotarians, and connect with new friends. Be sure to bring a guest and share the fun!
We can’t wait to see everyone, chat, and celebrate the spirit of Rotary fellowship in a relaxed, welcoming setting. Don’t miss out on this exciting new tradition!
District Governor Tom Simon
Visits Los Lunas Rotary
Last week, our club had the honor of welcoming Rotary District Governor Tom Simon to Los Lunas. Governor Tom inspired us with his message on Unite for Good and reminded us of the true meaning of serving our community with purpose.
During his visit, he presented our President, Leyda Hahn, with a meaningful gift and shared a special piece of Rotary history. Governor Tom brought with him a bust of Rotary’s founder, Paul Harris, and recounted fascinating stories about the bust and the legacy of Rotary’s beginnings.
We are deeply grateful for his visit, his leadership, and the inspiration he left with us.
Rotarians in Action with Los Lunas
Interact Club
Our Los Lunas Interact Club recently partnered with the New Mexico Ramp Project to support an important community service effort. The Ramp Project builds free ramps for older adults and people living with mobility challenges, and once construction is complete, Interact students step in to stain and finish them—protecting the wood and making sure the ramps remain safe and long-lasting for the families who rely on them. Rotarians were proud to roll up their sleeves alongside these dedicated students, working together to make a lasting difference and building bonds with the next generation of community leaders.
A special shoutout goes to our Youth Programs Chair, Dan Garrison, whose dedication and commitment make these opportunities possible for our Interact students. Under his leadership, the connection between our club and the Interact Club continues to grow stronger. We are excited to announce that our Rotary Club will be participating more frequently with these remarkable youth in upcoming service projects. Stay tuned for future announcements—and we encourage more of our members to join in the fun and fulfillment of working alongside these outstanding young leaders.
Together, Rotarians and Interactors are truly “Uniting for Good” and creating lasting impact in our community.
Bring your donation to our meetings—our Year of Cheer collection box will be in the meeting room! This is a wonderful way for all of us to come together and support a cause that spreads joy and comfort to children at the UNM Children’s Hospital. Every donation, big or small, makes a real difference.
This year, Year of Cheer is extra special because it is our District Governor’s chosen project. By participating, we not only help bring happiness to these children, but we also demonstrate our club’s dedication to the Rotary mission of service above self.
Donations of toys, clothing, or other essentials help bring ongoing joy and comfort to children at the hospital throughout the year. Let’s show our District Governor—and our community—the generosity and heart of the Rotary Club of Los Lunas!
This week, I’m proud to highlight the incredible work our club is doing in the community. From meaningful service projects with our Interact Club to inspiring visits from Rotary leaders, we continue to make a real difference.
I encourage everyone to stay connected and see more of our activities. Visit our Facebook page and click Like to follow along and celebrate the impact we’re making together.
Thank you for your dedication and commitment to service.
