This week, we are honored to welcome Samuel “Sam” Dosumu, Ph.D., Chancellor of The University of New Mexico–Valencia Campus, as our featured guest speaker.
Dr. Dosumu will share valuable insights on the university’s mission to expand educational opportunities, strengthen workforce development, and support the growth of our local community.
This is a unique opportunity to hear directly from a visionary leader in higher education whose work is shaping the future of students and families across Valencia County and beyond.
Don’t miss this engaging and inspiring discussion about how education and community partnerships are creating new pathways to success!
Last Week at the
Rotary Club of Los Lunas
It was our “Socialize at Your Table” gathering — a fun and relaxed way to connect with fellow Rotarians. In the absence of our president, Greg Gaudette stepped in as acting president and led the meeting with ease and enthusiasm. From the Pledge of Allegiance to the raffle and adjournment, Greg didn’t miss a beat!
We were treated to a singing grace invocation from George Greenlee, who as always, brought a special touch to the meeting. George also introduced two special guests from RYLA: his co-counselor Gene Kolcynzki from Rio Rancho and one of their RYLA campers from Los Lunas High School, Cruz R.
Dan Garrison brought along Adria Jaramillo from La Vida Felicidad, who expressed interest in joining our club, and Susan D. Chavez from Los Lunas Schools also attended and shared that she plans to become a member.
Our acting Sergeant at Arms, Dan Garrison, kept the fines short and sweet — handing out just one fine to George for being the only club member who can sing!
It was a lively and enjoyable meeting full of laughter, fellowship, and great company — exactly what Rotary is all about.
The Manzano Mountain Retreat is hosting its Fall Apple Harvest Festival every weekend through October 19th.
George Greenlee’s singing group, “The Enchanters,” will be performing on October 25th at 10:30 a.m. during the annual Jubilee Arts & Crafts Fair — be sure to come out and support them!
It’s been an exciting and busy week for our club! From inspiring speakers to fellowship with Rotarians from near and far, and taking action in our community, we’ve shared meaningful experiences together.
Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this week so special!
